Happy National Hungarian Holiday!

Happy National Hungarian Day! What a beautiful holiday here in Hungary. This morning we went to a ceremony in the park where we watched plays, folk dances, and music. Then we went to lunch at our usual favorite restaurant. Later today we went to dinner at a professor’s house. Here name is Anna Maria. She cooked us soup, chicken, vegetables and 3 kinds of desserts. This was the best meal we have had in Hungary. This is a quick post but we sure did have a wonderful day! I hope you enjoy the pictures.
At the ceremony... Beautiful arrangements for different associations of the city.

March 14

Good Evening! I can not believe another day has come and gone and I can not believe that we only have 4 more days left in Hungary. The relationships we have formed here are life long. We have been so blessed with supportive and helpful students, teachers, and mentors. I feel like the past 2 weeks have flown by, but when I think of it I know we all miss our homes, families, and friends. I know I will be happy when I jump into my fluffy bed ;) I may never wake up! Today was a wonderful day. We visited the city of Szarvas where we visited faculty members, a practice school, a nursery school, the assistant mayor and enjoyed a beautiful play for the national holiday, had a great lunch and visited a botanical garden. Whew! We did a lot of things today. Tomorrow is the countries national holiday so we will be celebrating all day. Thank you for all of the well wishes and prayers. I can not tell you how much we miss you all. We love you! Good Night!

Greetings!

Greetings from Jaszbereney, Hungary! We are here resting now after a long day. I am so sorry I did not post last night but we got home at about 10pm and we had to prepare for our last day of teaching. Yesterday we were teaching all day and then we visited a beautiful church. (Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the church because I left my camera at home). While at the church we learned a lot about their views in Hungary and we were blessed with a beautiful prayer of safe journeys. As you can tell from all my posts, the city of Jaszbereney is so welcoming and loving. Today we completed our last day of teaching in the school. We were very sad. The children there are so eager to learn and we learned so much form them. We will miss them very much. You will be very happy with all of the drawling’s, post cards and pictures that they wrote to you. Then we visited the mayor of Jaszbereney. We even got to take pictures at his desk. J Later on we presented the arts and crafts to the school. They were THRILLED. We took lots of pictures that we will share when we return. We also met with the people of the city and talked about Florida Gulf Coast University. It was a very informative meeting. I miss you all terribly and hope that school is going wonderful. Tomorrow is going to be a long day of traveling for us to visit Schools in other cities. We love you! xx

Sunday March 11th

Good Evening! I hope you all had a restful weekend and spent time with your families! Today we went to a beautiful city called Eger. On our way to Eger we stopped at a small village where they make their own linens. We loved it here and spent a lot of time shopping in the gift shop! While in Eger we visited a stone fort. This fort was used for men and women to hind during World War II. It was beautiful and overlooked the city. We also walked through the city. In the city we shopped, ate McDonald’s and ate strudels. Lots of shopping and food! We skipped the wine tasting because it was freezing! The weather was dreary, windy, and COLD! We were all miserable. So we went home and we are now preparing to teach the Hungarian children tomorrow. We hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and have a great week at school.
These are the machines to make the fabrics.

As you can see I am very miserable and cold!

 Alyssa is cold too!

We were so cold we were trying to hide to break away from the wind!
